Where to find marinas on the Chesapeake Bay?
Common Questions:
We allow our charterers to sail any where they want to go on the Chesapeake Bay including the Kent Narrows so long as they can do so safely. Many charterers try to go too far. We suggest charterers limit each days distance to less than 20 miles.
Are there limits regarding where we can sail on the Chesapeake Bay?
We do not allow charterers to sail at night.
Is it OK to sail at night?
No racing is allowed on our sailboats.
Are we allowed to race our chartered sailboat?
There are excellent marinas and anchorages on the Chester River, Fairlee Creek, Herring Bay, Kent Island, Magothy River, Middle River, Miles River, Potapsco River, Rhode River, Severn River, South River, Tilghman Island, Tred Avon River, and Rhode River, Sassafras River, West River, Worton Creek and Wye River. We have a Waterway Cruising Guide Chesapeake Bay and Maptech Chart Kit on board our yachts that describe marinas and anchorages and asuggested navigation, commanding depths, fuel availability, etc. Even better buy your own so you can plan your cruise properly.
What are good destinations from Rock Hall?
As a sailing school we do not agree with the modern trend to dumb down sailboats by removing various controls. Half the fun of chartering is triming your sails properly. Our sailboats are equipped with main sheet, genoa or jib sheet, genoa track cars, traveler, outhaul, boom vang, and leech line.
The modern trend in chartering is to offer generic sailboats with few controls in order to try and make it easier. Do your sailboats have sail controls?
Our sailing season starts on April 15 and continues until October 31 every year.
